Well I was amazed at how much the children had gained in confidence in just one week. It was incredible to see the level of care they were demonstrating to one another & the environment. Again, there were so many emerging ideas & inquiries. The interest in the deer den has continued and this week they discovered poop--which led to its own interesting conversation. One boy and I discovered this little frog in the forest. Some interesting theories emerged related to what type of frog, some discussion on what frogs eat, and why the frog was alone. I have some homework to do in identifying the frog. But checking back on the frog and just examining it up close was so amazing! The other aspect that was amazing was watching the children negotiate tree climbing. The problem-solving was phenomenal as well as the sharing of strategies & the guidance that was offered by the children themselves. Of course, when they were triumphant the pride in their accomplishments was very evident!
