The answer to that question is everything! It was a great day of exploring, climbing, problem solving, measuring, and of course experiencing rain on our faces. Some of the children really enjoyed lifting their faces to the rain. And of course discovering the best places to stay dry- the den. It was wonderful to experience the different weather pattern. On the way back the children discovered a big mud puddle in the field of grass-that also ended in a lot of fun & mud splattering. It reminded me of Munch's book the mud puddle. I also came across this poem that I thought I'd share:
Dirt on My Shirt
There's dirt on my shirt
And leaves in my hair
There's mud on my boots
But I don't really care
Playing outside is so much fun
To breathe the clean air
And feel the warm sun
To stomp in a puddle
Or climb a tree
Makes me quite happy
Just look and you'll see.

One of my favourite poems!
ReplyDeleteSorry for my absence in posting. I will be posting our adventures this weekend and then I will post weekly.
As a grown up we can really get hung up on the weather and let it decide our mood and behavior. As a child the weather has no bearing on us. Today proved that. It didn't stop the children from anything they wanted to do. they ran to the forest just like the times before. Excited to see if there is anything new. Anticipating what the day will bring. Happy proud smiling faces all around. Even the grown ups.
